Fairfax Hills has a public park that is a great outdoor space for picnics and neighborhood events. The park is maintained by the Fairfax Hills Park Association consisting of volunteers from our community that strive to extend the value of the park beyond the physical space. The park association organizes various social events throughout the year and is only possible with support from the community.
Contributions are used to pay for water, electricity, social events, and the services necessary to maintain the landscaping. Community Members can participate in the park planning process and are eligible to provide feedback on issues presented by the park board. The Fairfax Hills Park Association is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and contributions are tax deductible.
The Fairfax Hills Park Inc. no longer has dues paying members but instead it is funded primarily by its residents through donations. An annual budget identifies fixed operating expenses and other planned capital improvements necessary to maintain our park. The 2026 budget of $13,300 was approved by the Board on December 4, 2025.
2025 Investments
- $10,068 in donations contributed to 83% of the park‘s budget of $13,200
- Only $9,122 spent throughout the year,
- Monthly water & electric bills along with regular lawn maintenance at the park
- Remulched the play area and recovered the path way
- Ivy removal to improve maintenance and reduce mosquito activity naturally.
- Replaced 2 picnic tables & rebuilt 1 picnic table, turning it into a game table
- Stained, painted and added designs on some of the picnic tables
- The stage, trash enclosures, and rails on the bridge were stained
- 5 park events included Easter Egg Hunt, Toddler Play Date, Cinco de Mayo celebration, Oktoberfest Annual Meeting, and Music Night

- Monthly water & electric bills along with regular lawn maintenance at the park
- New walkway gravel & metal edging due to erosion & damage
- Replacement of the irrigation controls as they are not working
- New Neighborhood Directory
- Annual ivy maintenance

The Fairfax Hills Park Association is a registered 501(c) (3) and contributions are tax deductible. Also a growing number of residents are learning that their employers have matching grant programs and have a small but growing number of donations that have been. Please consider making an inquiry to your employer.
There is no minimum or maximum donation requirement. In 2025, donations ranged from $25 to $500 with the average contribution being $140.62 (up from $128 in 2025). Our 2025 participation rate was flat at 38% of households donated; 38% (2024); 50% (2023); 41% (2022) and 37% (2020). The 2021 financial campaign was cancelled due to the covid pandemic. Consider asking your employer about their company match program for a contribution to Fairfax Hills Park, Inc, which is a 501(c)(3).
