Gmail automatically adds certain emails matching the magic criteria to the Promotions tab. This can be turned off or even adjusted. For more information on this, see the Gmail support article which outlines why mail gets delivered here and how to prevent it if desired.
Turn promotion bundling off
This will turn off the grouping altogether in gmail so that his Fairfax Hills emails will not get caught up there. This will however also affect all other promotional email received.
- Open Gmail.
- In the top right, click Settings. See all settings.
- Click Inbox. untick “Enable bundling of top promo emails in Promotions.”
Another option is to remove emails from the Promotions folder and return them to the inbox permanently.
How to automatically move all incoming emails from Promotions to Primary (permanent)
- Click the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Select See all settings from the drop-down menu.
- Select the “Inbox” tab and proceed to uncheck the box next to Promotions to remove it from the inbox.
Lastly, and likely most effectively, you can add the email address from which the communications are delivered to your contact list which will put those emails from that email address into your primary inbox. Mass emails distributed by the Fairfax Hills Park Associate come from announcements@fairfaxhillsraleigh.org.
